Shabu worth over P700 million seized from 3 suspects in Cavite bust

LUCENA CITY — Police anti-illegal drugs operatives seized 214 kilos of shabu (crystal meth) worth more than P700 million from three big-time
traffickers in buy-bust operations on Monday night in Imus City, Cavite.

Drug enforcement unit operatives caught “Larry” and “Jan” after they sold P1,000,000 worth of shabu to a poseur buyer in a sting operation
at 6:26 p.m. in Barangay Pasong Buaya II, the Police Regional Office 4-A said in a spot report on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Seized from the suspects were 210 kilos of meth worth about P748,000,000, the report said.

At 9:58 p.m. another team of operatives busted “Adie” in Barangay Buhay na Tubig.

The suspect yielded four kilos of shabu in four separate vacuum sealed plastic bags worth P27,200,000, according to the report.

The operatives also seized two mobile phones from the three suspects to be examined for drug transactions.

Police tagged the three suspects as “high-value individuals” in the local drug trade.

The Cavite police were tracking the source of the shabu while the suspects were detained at the local police jail. They are facing charges of
violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In August, police anti-narcotics operatives in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon (Calabarzon) seized more than P24.2 million worth of illegal drugs during their operations.
