Police said the 70-year-old ex-convict   chased Caberte with a bolo when he saw her in the neighborhood.

Police said Espina earlier complained to neighbors that the victim stole his cell phone when she was still employed in the neighborhood.

Police said Caberte ran but Espina cornered her and hacked her several times.

Espina—who served jailtime at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa, Manila, for murder—fled.

Police said Caberte’s body will be subject for autopsy.  RHEA V. ROSELL
