MMDA: Number coding rule suspended from March 27-29

MANILA, Philippines — The implementation of the number coding scheme will be suspended in Metro Manila on April 9 and 10, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has said.

In an advisory on Saturday, the MMDA noted that it will lift the coding rule on the two dates which were declared as regular holidays.

April 9 marks the Day of Valor, while April 10 is the Feast of Ramadan.

Covered hours

Typically, the number coding rule is enforced from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, except on weekends and holidays.

The MMDA previously explained that under the number coding, “vehicles are prohibited from traveling on the streets of Metro Manila based on the last digit of their license plates during the designated coding hours.”

“Plates ending in 1 and 2 are covered by the coding on Mondays, 3 and 4 on Tuesdays, 5 and 6 on Wednesdays, 7 and 8 on Thursdays, and 9 and on Fridays,” it said.
