MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has returned to the Philippines from his trip to Brunei, according to Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Garafil on Monday.

On Sunday, Marcos was in Brunei for the royal wedding of Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei, the son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

Asked by reporters if Marcos had returned to the country, Garafl said that his plane arrived in the Philippines at 7 p.m.

The President departed for Brunei on Saturday evening.

Other guests at the royal wedding include Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

According to the Palace in a previous statement, Marcos’ attendance at the wedding would strengthen bilateral ties between Brunei and the Philippines.
