MANILA, Philippines — The results of the crossmatching examination conducted between the blood samples from missing beauty queen Catherine Camilon’s family and blood spatter lifted from an abandoned car found in Batangas City will be released within the day or tomorrow, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Thursday.

“We already talked to the director of forensic group. We are hoping that today if not tomorrow, we’ll get the DNA testing results,” Col. Jean Fajardo, PNP spokesperson, revealed during a press briefing.

Fajardo said that Camilon’s family agreed to give blood samples on Wednesday — a development that came after authorities retrieved hair strands and swabbed blood stains from an abandoned car that matched the description of the vehicle from two witnesses’ statements.

The abandoned car was found in a vacant lot along the corner of Dumuclay Road and Star Tollway in Barangay Pallocan East on November 9.

Prior to this, two unnamed witnesses claimed that they saw three men allegedly transferring the body of Camilon from her car to another vehicle.

One of the three men was Jeffrey Arreola Magpantay. He is now facing complaints of kidnapping and serious illegal detention, along with his boss and primary suspect, Police Major Allan de Castro, and two other “John Does.”

Moreover, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) revealed on Wednesday that De Castro admitted having an affair with Camilon.

Police said the beauty queen’s family likewise released new testimony revealing the relationship, as well as other evidence showing that Camilon was physically abused and had told De Castro’s wife that he was having an affair. The CIDG investigators said they are eyeing this as the “closest” motive of the suspects.

Based on police reports, the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate was reported missing by her mother and sister days after she went missing while traveling from Tuy in Nasugbu to Batangas City on October 12.
