LEGAZPI CITY — Several towns in Albay province have suspended classes on Tuesday due to continuous rains caused by the shear line.

In this city, Mayor Carmen Geraldine Rosal said classes at all levels in public and private schools were suspended and may switch to alternative mode of learning.

Rosal also temporarily banned tourism activities, including water-related activities.

The local governments of Daraga, Camalig, Guinobatan, Libon, Polangui, and Sto. Domingo also ordered suspension of classes.

At 11 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration Southern Luzon issued an orange rainfall warning in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Albay, which means flooding would be possible in low-lying areas and near river channels, while landslides also threaten high-risk areas.

Light to moderate rains were also affecting Catanduanes and Masbate including Burias and Ticao Islands.
