LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotics operatives arrested four drug suspects and seized more than P455,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations on Tuesday in Batangas and Cavite provinces.
The Region 4A police reported on Wednesday, Sept. 20, that members of the drug enforcement unit in Tanauan City, Batangas held Alex Barnuevo and Pablito Magalasin after they sold at 9:15 p.m. a pack of meth to an undercover cop in Barangay Darasa.
The suspects, both listed drug pushers in the locality, yielded two sachets of meth weighing 30 grams worth about P204,00 in the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) valuation.
The police also confiscated a Toyota Hiace Super Grandia van believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug trade.
Policemen in neighboring Sto. Tomas City also arrested Albert Guevarra in a sting operation at 10:05 p.m. in Barangay San Agustin.
Guevarra, a “high-value” target in the government’s drug war, was found in possession of nine sachets of shabu weighing 15 grams with a DDB value of P102,000.
The lawmen also seized the suspect’s motorcycle that he allegedly used in his illicit activities.
Meanwhile, anti-illegal drug operatives in Dasmariñas City, Cavite busted Jay de Guzman in Barangay Sampaloc 4 on Tuesday afternoon.
Seized from the suspect, who is on the police drug watch list as a high-value individual in the local drug trade, were 22 grams of meth with a DDB value of P149,600.
Authorities in Batangas and Cavite were tracking the source of the illegal drugs.
All suspects were detained at the local police jails and face charges of violating Section 5 and 11, Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
