Ormoc City cop dies in motorcycle-pick-up collision

ORMOC CITY — A policeman died in a mishap on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the national highway in Barangay Ipil in this city.

Patrolman Marvin Lawsin, 26, a resident of Jaro, Leyte, succumbed to a wound in his head.

Investigation by Traffic Enforcement Unit personnel of Ormoc City Police Office disclosed that Lawain was driving his motorcycle from Barangay Camp Downes to Barangay Danhug when the incident took place.

His motorcycle collided with a Nissan Navara pick-up driven by Alberto Fernando.

A security camera footage showed that the pick-up overtook the motorcycle and hit the victim head on.

Lawsin was rushed to the Ormoc District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
