ORMOC CITY, Philippines — A 65-year-old woman and her pet dog were killed after they were run over by van past noon on Tuesday in Barangay Concepcion in Ormoc City, Leyte.

The victim was identified as Visitacion Villarmino of Palompon town, Leyte. Her pet dog was a one-year-old Japanese Spitz.

According to Police Major Shevert Alvin Machete, City Traffic Management Office chief,  the woman and her pet dog were heading home to Palompon aboard a motorcycle driven by her son, Ryan.
