2 motorcycle riders die in Batangas mishaps
LUCENA CITY — Two motorcycle riders died in separate road accidents on Tuesday and Wednesday in San Pascual town in Batangas province.
The Batangas police, said in a report on Thursday, August 31, that a still-unidentified male motorcyclist hit the rear part of a trailer truck while crossing an intersection on the bypass road in Barangay Palsahingin around 5:13 a.m. on Wednesday.
The truck sped off after the incident.
The victim, who was described to be around 35 to 45 years old, suffered grave injuries and died on the way to the hospital.
The police are conducting an investigation to identify the truck driver.
Article continues after this advertisementOn Tuesday night, Honeyval Gunio, was driving his motorcycle with John Lloyd Comia, as a back-rider, when their vehicle collided with another motorcycle in one section of the same bypass road around 7:30 p.m.
Article continues after this advertisementBoth motorcycles fell on the road and the riders were thrown off the vehicle, and landed on the pavement.
Though injured, the unidentified motorcyclist and his female back-rider immediately picked up their vehicle and sped off.
Comia died on the spot from fatal head injuries, while Gunio was taken to the hospital for treatment
Police said Gunio was under the influence of liquor.
Police are conducting further investigation to identify the passengers of the other motorcycle.
