LIST: Flooded roads in Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines — Several roads in Metro Manila experienced flooding on Thursday morning due to the effects of the typhoon-enhanced southwest monsoon, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

The MMDA reported that amid the bad weather, floods hit the following areas:

Manila

  • Pedro Gil – Quirino Ave northbound – gutter deep (8 inches of water) as of 5:07 a.m.
  • Espana Lacson intersection – gutter deep (8 inches of water) as of 5:20 a.m.
  • Espana cor. dela Fuente – half knee (12 inches of water) as of 5:20 a.m.
  • Pureza RMB westbound  –  gutter deep as of 5:20 a.m.
  • V.Mapa RMB westbound – gutter deep as of 5:20 a.m.
  • Kalaw Roxas Blvd nb – gutter deep as of 5:21 a.m.

Quezon City

  • E. Rodriguez Araneta – knee deep (19 inches of water) as of 5:23 a.m.
  • Quezon Avenue
  • D. Tuazon Wb – gutter deep as of 7:35 a.m.

Pasay

  • Andrew Ave.- Tramo –  gutter deep as of 5:40 a.m.

Manila

  • Pedro Gil – Quirino Ave N/B: gutter deep (8 inches of water)
  • Espana – Lacson intersection: below Gutter deep  (6 inches of water)
  • Espana cor. dela Fuente: below Gutter deep (6 inches of water)
  • Kalaw Roxas Blvd N/B: Gutter deep ( 8 inches of water)
  • Espana Blvd. Antipolo: below gutter deep (6 inches of water)
  • Quiricada cor Abad Santos Ave.  SB: below Gutter deep (4 inches of water)

Quezon City

  • E. Rodriguez Araneta: Knee deep (19 inches of water)
  • Araneta – Ma.Clara: Half Knee  (10 inches of water)
  • G. Araneta intersection Baloy St: Knee deep (19 inches of water)
  • D. Tuazon Q.Ave: Gutter deep (8 inches of water)

Pasay

  • Andrew ave- Tramo: Gutter deep (8 inches of water)

Valenzuela

  • Mac Arthur Highway cor. T. Santiago Cuevas, Dalandanan: Knee deep  (16 to 19 inches of water)
  • Corner of MH Del Pilar St. Arkong Bato: Half Knee (10 inches of water)

The state weather bureau had issued an orange rainfall warning in Metro Manila and nearby areas as the southwest monsoon, locally termed habagat, brought heavy rains.

It also warned of light to moderate with occasional heavy rains in Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, and Quezon, as well as light to moderate rains over Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Laguna, Batangas, and the rest of Quezon, which may persist within three hours.
