MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday suspended its operations in all its offices in Metro Manila due to the effects of the typhoon-boosted southwest monsoon.
Due to the inclement weather, it also suspended the filing and receiving of certificates of candidacy (COCs) in Metro Manila on Thursday. The Comelec said it would extend the COC filing in Metro Manila to make up for the lost day due to a pause in the poll body’s operations.
