Navy man shoots dead alleged robber in Cavite

LUCENA CITY – A Philippine Navy (PN) officer shot and killed one of two suspected robbers inside his house in Imus City, Cavite early Friday, Aug. 18.

In a report, the Police Region 4A said while Marvin Celis, a PN member, was resting inside his house located at a subdivision in Barangay Malagasang 1G at 2:10 a.m., two men barged in and declared a hold-up.

But Celis managed to grab the firearm of one of the intruders, who was identified as Abraham Banawa, and shoot him in the body.

Banawa died on the spot after suffering a severe gunshot wound.

Celis subsequently arrested Banahaw’s cohort, Rohclem Maligaya and turned him over to the responding policemen.

The report did not specify if Maligawa was also armed.

Policemen were conducting further investigation. INQ
