P289,00 shabu seized from 4 drug suspects in Cavite
LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotics operatives on Wednesday nabbed four drug suspects and seized more than P289,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) and an illegal firearm in Cavite province.
Members of the Bacoor City drug enforcement unit held Mark Vincent Constantino and Ma. Lolita Gardon in a drug buy-bust operation at 5:15 a.m. in Barangay Zapote 5, the Region 4A police said in a report on Thursday, July 20.
The suspects, both identified as “high-value” targets in the government’s drug war, were found with five sachets of meth weighing 25 grams.
The seized shabu is worth P172,500 as per the valuation of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB).
The operatives also seized a mobile phone from the suspects, which will be subjected to digital forensic examinations if they have records of drug transactions.
Article continues after this advertisementThe same police team also busted Pedvee Alcoba, tagged as a drug pusher in the city, in another sting operation around 5:30 p.m. in Barangay Molino 3.
Article continues after this advertisementThe suspect yielded two sachets of shabu with a DDB value of P47,600 and an undocumented caliber .38 revolver loaded with three bullets.
The police also confiscated a car without a plate number believed to have been used by the suspect in his illegal drug trade.
In Imus City, local drug enforcers arrested around 7:30 p.m. Keith Merwin Olivarez after he sold shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay Malagasang 1F.
Authorities found the suspect, included in the police drug watchlist, carrying three sachets of meth with a DDB value of P69,000.
All suspects were placed in police custody and faced charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Alcoba will also be slapped with another case for illegal possession of firearms.
