Sacred relic of St. Isidore the Farmer now rests at Pulilan, Bulacan shrine
MANILA, Philippines — A first-class relic of St. Isidore the Farmer from Spain arrived at the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of San Isidro Labrador in Pulilan, Bulacan, said the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) on Monday.
The relic was welcomed in Pulilan town on Sunday, where a mass and procession were held.
According to the shrine’s rector, Fr. Dario Cabral, the relic was a “gift” from Spain’s Archdiocese of Madrid.
“This celebration of receiving the sacred bone of San Isidro is an act of glorifying God, who is the source of all holiness,” said Fr. Cabral.
The CBCP said that the relic of St. Isidore is one of the two that recently arrived in the country; the other was received by San Isidro Labrador Parish in Calamba, Laguna.
The Madrid archdiocese said that the relics are only two of 17 gifted to different churches around the world to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the canonization of St. Isidore the Farmer.
