Sea rescue by Coast Guard hampered by rains

MANILA, Philippines — Search and rescue efforts for the crew of two fishing boats missing in the waters off Catanduanes since Wednesday have been hampered by heavy rains, a spokesman of the Philippine Coast Guard said Friday.

Lieutenant Commander Algier Ricafrente said unfavorable conditions at sea because of tropical storm Falcon, has made searching for the ten fishermen difficult.

Philippine National Police spokesman Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said on Thursday that fishing boats “Mark Cedric” and “10 AP Green and Red Boat” were lost in the waters off Catanduanes.
