Pagasa: Rainy Tuesday in many parts of PH
MANILA, Philippines — Rains are expected in many parts of the country on Tuesday despite the weakening of the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” according to the state weather bureau.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Rhea Torres, in an early morning bulletin, said the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” has weakened while the easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean are now prevailing.
Torres said rain is expected in Palawan, large parts of the Visayas, the eastern part of southern Luzon, and the northeastern part of Mindanao.
Warm weather, with isolated rain showers, is expected in the rest of the country.
Pagasa added that no low-pressure area is being monitored in or around the Philippine area of responsibility.
No gale warning is in effect over any of the country’s seaboards.
