MANILA, Philippines — A commuter on Wednesday afternoon tried to take her own life by jumping onto the southbound tracks of the Metro Railway Transit Line 3 (MRT 3) at the Quezon Avenue station, prompting the transit line to temporarily halt its operation.

The MRT-3 management said the commuter was found alive and brought to the East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City.

Provisional services from Shaw Boulevard station to Taft Avenue station were then implemented to give way to the rescue operation.

Full operations of the train were restored two hours after the incident, said the management. The rail management also issued an apology to the other passengers who were stuck inside the trains during the service interruption.
