Suicide try at MRT aborted; train operations resume

MANILA, Philippines – A man’s suicide attempt at the Metro Rail Transit  bridge  in Guadalupe was aborted Wednesday night, and train operations resumed promptly, according to the Metro Manila Development Authority.

The incident also brought traffic on the northbound lane of Edsa from Guadalupe, Makati to a standstill as police and MMDA personnel closed the portion of the highway because of the suicide attempt.

The man who has yet to be identified was grabbed by members of a rescue team before he could jump from the bridge.
