More than P500,000 worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Some P568,480 worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) was confiscated in two separate anti-illegal drug operations in this province, police said Wednesday.

Information from the provincial police office showed that four drug suspects were arrested as 86.6 grams of suspected shabu were seized during the operations from March 20-26.

The same information showed that four people, who are allegedly involved in illegal logging, were arrested during the same period. Confiscated from them were 306.81 board feet of illegal logs worth P33,240.

Other arrested individuals during the weeklong anti-criminality operations were 10 wanted persons facing various charges such as unjust vexation, qualified theft, frustrated murder, bouncing check law violation, and illegal gambling, while another individual was arrested for possession of a loose firearm.

All suspects were placed in police custody while awaiting charges or court hearings.
