Cops seize P680,000 meth in Angeles City

Aussie man wanted for murder falls in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — Policemen arrested a suspected drug peddler who allegedly yielded some P680,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) during a buy-bust operation in Malabanias village in this city.

In a March 28 statement, Brigadier General Jose Hidalgo Jr., Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director, said the suspect, Christopher Castaneda, 34, of Balibago village, was listed as a high-value individual in the police’s campaign against illegal drugs.

Castaneda was arrested iby city police intelligence operatives along Narciso Avenue after selling shabu to an undercover lawman who paid the former 14 marked P1,000 bills for the illegal substance.

Policemen allegedly confiscated from the suspect some 100 grams of shabu contained in two plastic packs.

The arrested person faces charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
