Cops seize P5.4-M ‘shabu’ in Angeles City; arrest 3 suspects

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Police in Angeles City seized around P5.4-million worth of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and arrested three suspected illegal drug peddlers on Saturday night.

The buy-bust, which took place at Valdez St. in Barangay Ninoy Aquino, yielded around 800 grams of shabu packed in 11 plastic bags commonly used in making ice, according to Col. Rommel Batangan, city police chief.

Batangan said suspect Noraden Ariray was a high-value target while Roberto Carbungco was on the drug watch list.

The third suspect, Anthony Bonifacio, had been jailed for 10 years due to illegal drugs. They face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
