3 ex-rebels in Zambales yield to gov’t
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Three alleged former communist rebels in this province have surrendered to government troops recently, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) said.
In a report Sunday, March 19, the PRO3 identified the three rebel returnees as “Ka Resty, “Ka Allan,” and “Ka Nelly.”
The rebels also turned over to the authorities two .38-caliber revolver with no serial number, live ammunition, and two plastic bottles containing possible explosive materials.
Rebels who surrender to the government will receive immediate cash assistance, reintegration assistance, and remuneration for the turned over firearms and ammunition.
They will also receive livelihood, legal, medical, educational, and housing assistance under the national government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.
