P5.1M meth seized in Laguna
LUCENA CITY — Anti-narcotics operatives collared an alleged illegal drug trafficker who yielded P5.1 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) during a buy-bust operation in Santa Rosa City, Laguna province, authorities said on Sunday, March 19.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 4A said its agents and local police arrested at 7:15 p.m. on March 18 Joemar Demandante, 40, after he sold shabu to a poseur buyer in front of a subdivision along the Santa Rosa-Tagaytay road in Barangay Sto. Domingo.
The operatives seized from Demandante, a resident of Ayala Southville Village in Las Piñas City, 750 grams of meth worth about P5,175,000.
The police were conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.
The suspect was detained and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
