VIRAC, Catanduanes — An elderly man was found dead in a drain along the sidewalk in Bato town in this province late Thursday, March 2, police said.
In a report, Bato police said they received a call from village chief Larry Tianzon of Barangay (village) Libjo informing the law enforcers that a man was found lying in the drain.
The victim was later identified as Larry Posada, 61, a resident of Libjo.
Posada was immediately brought to the Bato Maternity and Children’s Hospital by personnel of the municipal disaster risk reduction office, but he was declared dead upon arrival.
Based on the initial investigation, Posada could have fallen into the sidewalk drain while on the way home after attending a funeral in the barangay.
