Man dies from snake bite in Catanduanes
LEGAZPI CITY — A 26-year-old man died after he was reportedly bitten by a snake on Thursday (Feb. 2) in Panganiban town, Catanduanes province.
In a text message, Christian De Jesus, information officer of municipal disaster risk reduction and management office (MDRRMO) of Panganiban, identified the victim as Jessie Ogalesco.
An initial report said Ogalesco was gathering firewood with neighbors when he was bitten by a king cobra in the mountainous area of Barangay (village) Mabini at around 11 a.m.
De Jesus said the victim was bitten twice on his left and right legs.
Ogalesco’s neighbors tried to revive him after the incident but it took them hours to bring him to a hospital.
