Cloudy skies, scattered rain over Luzon; localized thunderstorms to prevail in VisMin
MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies and scattered rain are expected in most parts of Luzon due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Thursday.
“Patuloy pa rin ang pag-iral nitong northeast monsoon dito sa may bahagi ng Luzon at ito ay magdadala ng maulap na kalangitan na may pag-ulan,” said weather specialist Patrick Del Mundo.

Pagasa, meanwhile, has already spotted localized thunderstorms in parts of eastern and central Visayas and Mindanao.
Del Mundo noted that no low pressure area was spotted inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
“Kaya naman inaasahan natin sa weekend ay magiging maaliwalas pa rin ang panahon sa malaking bahagi ng bansa,” he said.

However, the agency warned fisherfolk of high waves brought by the northeast monsoon in coastal waters of Luzon.
It raised a gale warning in Batanes, Cagayan (including the Babuyan Islands), Isabela, the northern coast of Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, and La Union.
