BOC Port of Subic exceeds January 2023 target collection
SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — The Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Subic has surpassed its target collection for January, the agency said Tuesday, February 7.
In a statement, the local BOC office said it posted a 4.4 percent surplus in its assigned collection target of P3,813,620 last month.
The surplus was equivalent to P170, 276, 582, it said.
According to the agency, it exceeded the target “despite the issues involving the Port of Subic,” although it did not elaborate.
The agency has been beset by controversies recently, including allegations of rampant agricultural smuggling at the free port.
