Marcos mistakenly calls wife Liza as ‘First Lady Imelda’

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. called his wife Liza by his mother’s name, “Imelda,” on Wednesday.
Vice President Sara Duterte and former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo were among the dignitaries who heard Marcos Jr.’s farewell address before he left for Japan on an official tour.
But when he addressed his wife, First Lady Liza, he accidentally said “First Lady Imelda.”
The President, First Lady, and the entire crowd all erupted in laughter.
Marcos flew to Tokyo, Japan, on Wednesday afternoon for a five-day official visit.
