Fair Wednesday weather in most of PH to welcome February but…
MANILA, Philippines — Most of the Philippines will generally experience fair weather on Wednesday to kickstart the month of February, according to the state weather bureau.
But light showers are still forecast throughout the day, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Administration (Pagasa).
“Dito sa Metro Manila at nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon, magandang panahon iyong inaasahan natin maliban na lang sa mga mahihinang pag-ulan (In Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, fair weather is expected aside from light rain fall),” state weather service specialist Veronica Torres said in a late afternoon weather forecast on Tuesday.
Fair weather with chances of light rain showers and thunderstorms are likewise seen to prevail over most of Visayas and Mindanao–except Eastern Visayas and Davao Region, which may encounter overcast skies and rains triggered by the northeast monsoon or amihan, she added.

Late Tuesday weather in PH
Torres said the trough or extension of the low pressure outside the Philippine area of responsibility is currently bringing rains over the southern portion of Palawan, while similar weather is seen in Caraga but due to the shear line.
“Kung mapapansin natin, kumaunti na nga iyong mga area na affected ng shear line compared sa kahapon (If you notice, lesser areas are now affected by the shearline compared to yesterday),” she said.
Meanwhile, Torres further said that rain brought about by the northeast monsoon is pouring over the Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and the rest of Mimaropa (Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan).
Lighter rains similarly persist in the remaining areas of Luzon and Visayas, including Metro Manila, she added.
Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms and the shear line trigger cloudy skies and isolated rains in the rest of Mindanao, according to Torres.
