Rain to continue over most parts of PH — Pagasa

Rain shower will continue over the majority of the country on Tuesday due to the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) and the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

MANILA, Philippines — Rain shower will continue over the majority of the country on Tuesday due to the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) and the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The LPA being monitored outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) was last spotted 640 kilometers east southeast of Davao City.

“Itong LPA na ito ay nananatiling mababa ang tiyansa na maging bagyo sa susunod na 24 hours, pero sa kasalukuyan may tiyansa pa rin itong pumasok ng PAR,” Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres said in Pagasa’s latest weather forecast.

(This LPA remains to have a low chance of becoming a typhoon in the next 24 hours, but currently it still has a chance of entering PAR.)

Despite being outside PAR, the LPA’s trough is expected to continue bringing rain over the entire Visayas and Mindanao.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will bring rain over the majority of Luzon, particularly, Eastern Luzon, Cagayan, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Mimaropa while the Bicol region will be affected by the LPA’s trough.

On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have generally fair weather with chances of rain.

Gale warning remained raised over several seaboards, particularly, the Eastern coast of Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Northern Quezon including northern and eastern coasts of Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, Northern coast of Camarines Sur, Northern and Eastern coast of Catanduanes, Eastern coast of Albay, Eastern coast of Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Eastern coast of Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, Eastern coast of Surigao del Norte including Siargao and Bucan Grande Islands.

The state weather bureau said the temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Tuesday will be:

  • Metro Manila: 21 to 29 degrees Celsius
  • Baguio City: 14 to 23 degrees Celsius
  • Laoag City:  20 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Tuguegarao: 19 to 28 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi City: 24 to 28 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City: 26 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay: 20 to 27 degrees Celsius
  • Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo City: 24 to 29 degrees Celsius
  • Cebu: 24 to 28 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban City: 24 to 28 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan De Oro City: 23 to 28 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Davao City: 23 to 30 degrees Celsius
