Central Luzon provinces still on list of areas with high number of new COVID cases
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales–Two provinces in Central Luzon were still included in the list of areas in the country that posted the highest number of new COVID-19 cases as of Sunday, Jan. 8.
According to the independent pandemic monitor OCTA Research, Bulacan and Pampanga ranked highly on the list, which was still topped by the National Capital Region.
Bulacan was fifth on the list after adding 15 new cases, while Pampanga ranked eight after tallying 12 new infections.
The provinces of Nueva Ecija and Bataan were previously included in the list in the latter part of 2022.
In Zambales province, only two new COVID-19 cases were added to its tally on Sunday. Its active infections still stood at 17, according to the local data. INQ
