LUCENA CITY — Police arrested a suspected drug trafficker and seized more than P724,000 worth of cocaine and shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday night in Real town in Quezon province.
Police Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, said in a report Wednesday, Dec. 14, that anti-illegal drugs operatives collared at 11:57 p.m. Jomer Nera, 45, after he sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay Poblacion 61.
The police found the suspect carrying a sling bag that allegedly contained eight sachets of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P407,660. The seized meth has a street value of P1,222,980, the police said.
The bag also has one knot-tied plastic that reportedly contained “cocaine” with a DDB value of P316,834. The cocaine has a street value of P950,502, the report said.
The police are tracking down the source of the illegal drugs peddled by the suspect, an identified drug trader in the locality.
The suspect was placed under police custody and would face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, police in San Mateo, Rizal busted Ryan Laurence Miranda, Mary Chris Javier, and John Christopher Gomilla in a sting operation around 11:45 p.m. in Barangay Silangan, the Region 4A police said in a report.
The suspects, all on the police drug watch list, yielded six sachets of meth with a DDB value of P163,047.
The report said the authorities also confiscated a handgun loaded with three bullets from the suspects.
The suspects were detained and are facing criminal charges.
