45 suspects yield illegal firearms, drugs in Central Luzon
OLONGAPO CITY — Police in Central Luzon arrested 45 people during the recent region-wide implementation of search warrants, authorities said Monday.
In a report, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) said 50 assorted firearms and 62 grams of “shabu” (crystal meth) were also confiscated during the operations over the weekend.
According to the PRO3, the drug haul was valued at P400,000.
Most of the arrested suspects were charged with violations of Republic Act (RA) 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and. Ammunition Regulation Act, and RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“These accomplishments only show our persistence in minimizing all forms of lawlessness in the region,” said Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen, PRO3 director, in a statement. INQ
