LUCENA CITY — An alleged motorcycle thief was killed early Wednesday, Nov. 9, when he allegedly engaged the police in a shootout during a hot pursuit operation in Naic town in Cavite province.
The Region 4A police said in a report that Robert Litada called the police before the shootout and reported that an unidentified person was driving his black motorcycle.
The police immediately responded and spotted the rider at around 1:20 a.m. aboard the motorcycle in Barangay Timalan Concepcion.
But the rider ignored the cops and tried to escape. The rider reportedly fired at the police but missed his targets.
The police returned shots and hit the rider, who died while being taken to the San Lorenzo Ruiz Hospital.
The police are conducting further investigation.
