Tuguegarao City placed under state of calamity amid floods
TUGUEGARAO CITY — The city was placed under a state of calamity on Thursday due to the severe flooding it experienced after a series of storms.
Acting on the recommendation of Mayor Maila Ting-Que and the city disaster risk reduction and management council, members of the city council unanimously approved a resolution for the declaration.
Ting-Que said the move would speed up aid delivery to typhoon-affected families.
Authorities have yet to estimate the cost of damage to crops, infrastructure, and other properties.
Severe Tropical Storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae) was the latest weather disturbance to trigger widespread flooding in the city.
