55 Pampanga villages still flooded due to heavy rain

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The number of flooded villages in Pampanga increased to 55 from 35 villages in eight towns due to heavy rains and high tides on Monday, Oct. 31, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) reported.

Water continued to drain into the Pampanga River, exceeding alarm levels in monitoring stations downstream of Arayat at 7.34 meters and Candaba at 4.61 meters as of 5 a.m., inundating nearby towns, according to a report from the Pampanga River Flood Forecasting and Warning Center. The rest are at alert levels.

As of Monday, 1,702 people (481 families) from 20 villages in Lubao, Macabebe, Sasmuan, Arayat, and Masantol remained in 23 evacuation centers.

Strong winds destroyed 10 houses and partially damaged 11 others.
