Canceled flights

MANILA, Philippines – Numerous domestic flights were canceled on Monday,, October 31, 2022 after Tropical Storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae) whipped many parts of the country and disrupted normal airport operations.

Cebu Pacific Air announced Sunday night that the following Monday flights are called off:

  • 5J 893/894 Manila – Caticlan (Boracay) – Manila
  • 5J 627/628 Manila – Dumaguete – Manila
  • 5J 567/568 Manila – Cebu – Manila
  • 5J 963/964 Manila – Davao – Manila
  • 5J 383/384 Manila – Cagayan de Oro – Manila
  • 5J 571/572 Manila – Cebu – Manila
  • 5J 637/638 Manila – Puerto Princesa – Manila
  • 5J 617/618 Manila – Tagbilaran – Manila
  • 5J 655/656 Manila – Tacloban – Manila
  • 5J 891/892 Manila – Caticlan – Manila

Cebu Pacific said passengers affected by the cancellation of flights were informed about the development and the options available to them, which they can access through the airlines’ website.

AirAsia said that affected passengers may opt to move their flight within 30 days from the original departure date, have the value of their flight booking credited for future travels with the airline or request for a refund.

The Manila International Airport Authority earlier said at least 43,151 travelers were affected by flight cancellations amid the onslaught of Paeng.

In its 5 a.m. forecast on Monday, the state weather bureau said Paeng continues to trigger strong winds and rains over parts of the country but it is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by afternoon or evening.
