LUCENA CITY – Four suspected illegal drug traffickers were arrested Tuesday and Wednesday (October 18 and 19) and yielded P340,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations in Rizal and Cavite provinces.

The Region 4A police, in an initial report, said that anti-illegal drugs operatives collared Randy Bañares and Bernardo Beltran at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday after selling a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay (village) San Jose in Montalban town in Rizal.

Seized from the suspects were nine sachets of meth weighing 35 grams with estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DBB) value of P238,000.

In Dasmariñas City, Cavite, anti-narcotics operatives nabbed Renzo Bilog and Samuel Caunceran in another sting operation in Barangay Salitran 4 at around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The suspects yielded three sachets of shabu with a DDB value of P102,000.

The police tagged Bilog as an “HVI” or high-value individual in the local drug scene. The report said he is also an alleged member of a drug syndicate.

The police were conducting further investigation to determine the source of the illegal drugs seized from the four suspects.

All suspects are under police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
