P540,000 ‘shabu’ seized from 2 traffickers in Rizal bust
LUCENA CITY – Anti-narcotics operatives arrested two suspected big-time traffickers early Wednesday (October 12) and seized more than P540,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Binangonan town in Rizal province.
The Region 4A police said in an initial report that drug suspects Roland Fedillaga Sr. and Romie Espinosa, were collared at around 4 a.m. after they allegedly sold P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer acting as a drug user in Barangay (village) Bilibiran.
Seized from the suspects were seven sachets of shabu weighing 80.3 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P546,040.
The police also found a sling bag with a caliber 9mm pistol loaded with a magazine and five bullets.
Police were tracking the source of the illegal drugs.
Article continues after this advertisementBoth suspects are under police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and another case for illegal possession of a firearm.
Article continues after this advertisementOn Tuesday, October 11, anti-illegal drugs operatives busted Anthony Arcilla and Desmond Raya in a sting operation in Barangay Ibabang Dupay in this city at around 10:42 p.m., Police Lieutenant Colonel Reynaldo Reyes, city police chief, said in a report.
The suspects yielded six sachets of shabu with a street value of P29,988.
The suspects were detained and are facing corresponding charges.
