Abra high school teacher gunned down
BAGUIO CITY — A high school teacher died while being treated in a hospital after being shot by assailants on a motorcycle in Bangued town, Abra province, on Wednesday (September 28) morning, police said.
Investigators identified the victim as Rudy Steward Sayen, 38, a native of Boliney town, also in Abra, and a teacher at Suyo National High School in Pidigan town.
Sayen was heading to the school on board a motorcycle when he was attacked at 7: 50 a.m.
Witnesses said the assailants tailed the victim and one of them shot the victim twice when they reached a portion of the Abra-Ilocos Sur Road in Bangued’s Barangay Lipcan.
Sayen sustained bullet wounds on the left side of his back and neck.
Police were still trying to determine the motive behind the killing. INQ
