ANGELES CITY — Policemen arrested on Saturday a suspected drug peddler who allegedly yielded some P408,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in Pulung Maragul village in this city.
In a statement on Sunday, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) identified the arrested person as Marvin Jay Pineda, 26, a “high-value individual” in the police campaign against illegal drugs.
Using a marked P1,000 bill, an undercover police officer managed to buy a sachet of shabu from the suspect.
Police allegedly found six more sachets of suspected shabu weighing 60 grams during the operation.
Pineda faces charges of possession and sale of illegal drugs in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PRO3 director Brigadier General Cesar Pasiwen said they would revitalize the campaign against illegal drugs in Central Luzon until most of the villages in the cities and towns of the region are declared “drug-cleared.” INQ
