Farmer shot dead in Camarines Sur, suspect nabbed

LEGAZPI CITY — A farmer was shot and killed in Ocampo, Camarines Sur on Saturday night.
Police Colonel Roderico Roy, Camarines Sur police chief, said Nelson Bagapuro Sr., whule in a drinking binge with a friend, was shot by the suspect identified as Jocel Ampongan in Barangay (village) Ayugan at around 8:20 p.m.

Ampongan tried to escape aboard a motorcycle but was arrested by responding police officers. Another suspect fled on foot.

The victim died while being taken to a hospital.
Authorities recovered a loaded .38 caliber gun, two fired cartridges, a kitchen knife and the motorcycle used in the escape attempt.
