Bongbong Marcos discusses rice supply with economic team, NFA execs

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. met Tuesday with his economic team and officials of the National Food Authority (NFA) to discuss the means to ensure a sufficient rice supply in the country. 

Marcos met with the officials following his meeting with his Cabinet in Malacañang.

“The Department of Migrant Workers and the Department of Labor and Employment laid out their projects that they want to focus on in line with our plans to protect the welfare of our workers,” Marcos said in a Facebook post in Filipino.

“We also met with the officials of the National Food Authority so that we can ensure that we have sufficient supply of rice in the country,” he added.

On Monday, the Bureau of Customs found 13,000 sacks of sugar and 66,000 sacks of rice, estimated to have a combined worth of P231 million, in two warehouses in Barangay 168 in Caloocan City.
