Orange rainfall warning up over Albay; Sorsogon placed under yellow alert

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) raised Monday orange rainfall warning over Albay and yellow rainfall warning over Sorsogon.

In its 12 noon advisory, Pagasa placed Albay raised orange rainfall warning over Albay. The state weather bureau said flooding is threatening in low lying areas and near river channels while landslides may happen in mountainous areas.

Likewise, Pagasa raised a yellow rainfall warning over Sorsogon. The state weather bureau said flooding in low lying areas may still prevail.

Pagasa also reported light to moderate with to occasionally heavy rains may persist over Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, Northern Samar, Romblon, Marinduque, and Oriental Mindoro which may continue for 2 to 3 hours and may affect nearby areas.

“The public and the disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and monitor the weather condition,” Pagasa said.
