Rizal province busts net 5 drug suspects, P78,000 shabu

LUCENA CITY—Five drug suspects yielded more than P78,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) when they were arrested Wednesday and Thursday in separate buy-bust operations in Rizal province.

The Police Regional Office 4-A reported that Antipolo City drug enforcers collared at 12:05 a.m. on August 4, Mark Ivan Esparagoza and Niño Alcantara, after allegedly selling meth to an undercover cop.

Seized from the suspects were four sachets of shabu weighing five grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P34,000.

Recovered from them were five sachets of shabu weighing 6.5 grams with a DDB value of P44,200.

The suspects were detained and will be charged for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
