Minor, 4 others yield P138K meth in Mabalacat City

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives arrested a 14-year-old boy and four men in a buy-bust operation that also resulted in the confiscation of some P138,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in Lakandula village here on Wednesday, July 27.
In a statement on Thursday, the PDEA Central Luzon identified the four suspects as Pastor Cunanan Jr, 45; Ariel Muñoz, 42; Eduardo Mercado, 56; and Michael Tarin, 43.
Around 3:20 p.m. on Thursday, an undercover PDEA agent managed to buy a small sachet of shabu from the suspects using a marked P500 bill.
The operatives allegedly seized from the suspects six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia. The marked peso bill was also recovered.
The underage suspect was taken to the local social welfare office while the other four suspects were initially taken to the PDEA Central Luzon for detention while charges for possession and selling of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were prepared against them.
