Cops nab 4 drug suspects in Southern Luzon buy-busts

Anti-narcotics agents nabbed four drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations on Thursday and Friday (July 28 and 29) in Quezon, Cavite, and Rizal provinces.

LUCENA CITY – Anti-narcotics agents nabbed four drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations on Thursday and Friday (July 28 and 29) in Quezon, Cavite, and Rizal provinces.

Col. Joel Villanueva, Quezon police chief, reported that anti-illegal drug operatives arrested Trisha Gentiles and Jamie Escuadra after they allegedly sold P500 worth of shabu to an undercover cop acting as a drug user in Barangay Bukal Sur in Candelaria town at 9 a.m. Friday.

The authorities seized nine plastic sachets of meth weighing 21.66 grams worth P441,864 at the prevailing street price of P20,400 per gram, police said.

Meanwhile, the Police Regional Office 4-A reported that members of the Antipolo City police drug enforcement unit in Rizal collared Richard Elpos in a sting operation in Barangay Inarawan at around 1:40 a.m. Friday.

The suspect yielded two plastic sachets of meth weighing 22 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P149,600.

In Dasmariñas City in Cavite, cops busted John Lester Sereneo in the village of Saint Peter 1 at around 9:10 p.m. on Thursday.

The authorities found him in alleged possession of two sachets of shabu weighing 25 grams with a DDB value of P222,500.

The police were conducting investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs peddled by the suspects.

The suspects were detained at the local police jail and are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
