Shabu worth P3.4M seized in Naga City bust

MANILA, Philippines – Authorities seized P3.4 million-worth of suspected shabu or crystal meth in a recent drug bust in Naga City, Camarines Sur, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.

PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said Wednesday authorities arrested Eymard Rey Batan, 43, during the bust in his residence at Barangay (village) Peñafrancia, on June 28.

A joint team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Naga City police made the bust.

Seized from the suspect were 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4 million, police said.

The illegal drugs are now in the custody of the Naga City Police Office.

Police said Batan is now facing a complaint for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
