LPA to bring rain in Southern Luzon, Visayas on Monday – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) last located near Surigao City will bring rain in the Bicol Region, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) as well as the entire Visayas on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
According to Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina, the LPA was last spotted 75 kilometers east southeast of Surigao City.
“Malaki ang tiyansa ng paguulan dito sa Bicol Region, Calabarzon at sa Mimaropa dahil sa LPA – asahan ang malaking tiyansa ng maulap na kalangitan maghapon at may tiyansa ng mahina hanggang sa katamtamang pagulan,” said Badrina.
(There is a high chance of rain here in Bicol Region, Calabarzon and Mimaropa due to the LPA – expect a big chance of cloudy skies all day and a chance of light to moderate rain.)
“Samantala sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon patuloy na maaliwalas na panahon ang maaasahan liban na lang sa mga isolated pagulan sa hapon hanggang sa gabi,” he added.
(Meanwhile in the rest of Luzon, clear weather is expected except for the isolated rains in the afternoon until evening)
The LPA is also forecast to bring rain over the entire Visayas on Monday, said Badrina, while Mindanao will experience fair weather with hot temperatures in the morning and chances of rain in the afternoon until evening.
Despite the presence of the LPA, no gale warning was raised in the country’s coasts as only slight to moderate sea conditions are expected.
